Since starting in Corporate America I have seen and taken lots of personality tests. The kind that show you how to deal with people and the kind that teach you about your self to be a better "team player"... I even had someone ask me to take a personality test after my son was born because they were studying the type of personalities it takes to give natural birth...
Out of all of these quizzes, I never fit in to a category completely. I'm always 1/2 this and 1/2 that... 1/4 of each, and sometimes I have even stumped the testing moderators because they don't understand how I can be both.... Well if you new my Father and Mother (no offense to them), you would understand how my genetics make me a little bit on all sides of the personality fence. But in reality NO one can fit in to a single personality type ALL the time... Unless your a solid type A of course *smile*
But today while putting away my wrinkly clothes and sheets it hit me... A new kind of personality test. One that EVERYONE can fit in to... Do you Iron or do you not?
Think about it, A person that is worried about having fresh ironed underpants (as if your privates mind that there are wrinkles) or freshly ironed Bed sheets (when your just going to sleep on them anyway)... Or spend hours ironing their kids clothes... (Hello, they are kids) *smile* These type of personalities would be totally bothered by any imperfection.
But a person that doesn't iron and could care a less if their pillow case has a crease, probably doesn't care about hanging a picture up over some holes on the wall instead of fixing the holes (this would be me)... hey if they picture is covering it, then who will see it... *smile*
The ironing person is more apt to stick to a schedule (by the book without deviations)... Where the non-ironing person is probably more apt to going with the flow and things will happen when they happen...
The ironing type of personality will do less spur of the moment stuff. They need plans and research and have to work around schedules... The non-ironing kind will go where the wind takes them... If something pops in their head they go... If they feel like being home, they stay home... If they need to buy something, they buy it...
The person that irons all their clothes before leaving the house seems to worry more about what other people think of them.. While the Non-Ironing crew, will usually wear what they want and when they want as long as they are comfortable (this would be me)
And then there are those that don't iron or do laundry.... That is what Dry Cleaners are for.... OK, that is a whole other personality all together...
So you see....We don't need to take 20 page quizzes to figure out our personalities..... Just ask your neighbors, friends, family and co-workers if they Iron their Sheets. This will tell you everything you need to know. *smile*
