UPDATE on my latest initiatives.....
Making my own Deodorant: Yes, I'm still using and loving this stuff. I noticed a rash of dry skin starting after a run. And realized the baking soda friction was probably causing a little burn. So I would lotion up before bed, and use the Deo in the morning.... After a couple days the rash went away and I've been fine since. Still no Odor... LOVE IT!! When I switch back to my store bought stuff one weekend, I could tell the difference within an hour PEEE EWE!
Making my own Vapor'ish Rub: Veg started coughing after lying down two more nights... Putting that stuff on his feet and chest, stopped the cough each time... I'm a Believer!! I will be making much more of this, that is for sure!! And yes, I'll try to make some for family and friends as soon as I get more ingredients (hard to find) and some tins or jars.
NO Shampoo: Well, this one is tricky!! I jump in the shower in one of those quick Mommy shower moments and realize I didn't mix my stuff... So I end up using Veg's California Baby Shampoo. If I use my old Shampoo I see a difference right away... I've been trying to use the baking soda then vinegar rinse though. And the other day I added some honey to the ACV rinse, also a little more water... And I had a very happy head.
1/2 Marathon Training: Next week is my first official day of official training, but I've been getting out for a mile or two several days a week to prepare me for the hard stuff..... If any cold weather person is reading this and can offer some stay warm tips...I would appreciate it. My lungs are doing much better and breathing isn't so hard now. Gloves keep my hands toasty warm and a hat covering my ears keeps my head happy. But now my Legs are getting cold. This morning, they were so weak... felt like rubber much more then normal.... Outside of lighting a candle in my drawers which isn't a good option, I'm running out of ideas. And soon I'll be hitting the pavement for an hour and more and the temp. will only be dropping. We are in for a cold winter if the last two weeks are any indication.
I don't want to switch to the treadmill until there is ice and snow... otherwise I want to be outside... after all, i won't be running the 1/2 on a treadmill so why train that way??
So why is this 13 miles such a big deal, you may ask? Because I'm a wimp! Thats why... and its Freakin' 13 miles!! And let me explain... I'm not a young skinny winny with long legs that struts like a beautiful racehorse........ NO - I'm more like an oval shaped Old Clidesdale.... Clippity Clop, Clippity Clop... Thats me!!! My body is not one made to run. So there will be many more posts as I take this journey to finishing my promise.....
And heck, at least I'll have some shiney hair and nice smelling pits to show for it! *smile*
