I haven't done any running since March (the 1/2 Marathon).. Lots of walking and some biking but no running...
This past week, I've been itching to get back out and try it. I realized that Fall is coming soon and if Veg wants to do all the 5K's that come to town, I need to keep up with at least a 3 mile run. He is bigger and stronger this go around, and I think he will kick my hiney.
Not to mention every day on my way home, I see all the old "passing" gang running the trail every day. They didn't stop, they are like machines. RAIN or SHINE they are out there, I use to pass them or more like they'd pass me all the time.
So this morning I went out for a jog with no end goal in mind. I don't need to meet a time or a pace or a distance... Just going for a run because I want to... what a difference!! I got in the first mile fairly quick, and then lollygagged on the last 1.5 miles. including some walking... It was Hot and Humid to the point of a soaked shirt at the first 1/2 mile. But there was a cool breeze that was blowing in a storm.
All the animals were out grabbing their grub before the storm hits. Squirrels, Bunnies, Birds.. I even saw the goats out, and it was soo early that the Roosters were Cockadoodledooing.....
I came home and did some weight/strength training, along with some stretches.
Such a great way to start the day!!!
