Can't believe its been 16 days for this one... While the other challenges prepped me to get here, this one has by far been the most interesting...
What I've learned:
The challenge was to eat at least 2 raw foods for Breakfast and Lunch... What its turned in to, is a lot of fruit and veggies, grains and nuts through out the day.
And a little bit of cooked or processed foods thrown in. My diet has shifted from a little tiny bit raw and mostly cooked. To a little tiny bit cooked and more raw. Along with some transition foods thrown in. And remember my goal isn't to be all Raw, so I won't claim to be... But the more the better. I realize that is what my Body needs.
My snacks are Full of flavor, my hunger level has gone way down. My skin is soft and shiny, my hair has grown what seems like 2 inches... (not that I need it to grow) but it is soft.. My nails are long (until I cut them) but they are solid.... I'm even getting a slight twinge to start running again.
I'm sleeping well, and enjoying my days.. no more feeling full from foods or head aches or upset tummies (except twice, but will talk about that in a minute) My monthly visit was calm and easy to handle. Energy level is good on all days but the one I didn't eat enough or take care of my self (so that doesn't count)
I'm spending more time in the kitchen then I have my entire life and not Cooking a thing *smile* and enjoying every minute.
Also down about 3 pounds, which is exciting. As for the upset tummy, this has happened twice so far, and I'm not sure if its a "Detox" thing of sorts, or if I'm getting a hold of something that my belly doesn't like. Time will tell and I will monitor..... It happened the first week and now this week.
Even with a couple upset tummies and one low energy day, I'd say this challenge has been a total success in kick starting a new way of eating for me. I will allow my self treats when I feel like them, and allow my self comfort or cooked food, when I feel like it. I will eat what I want, when I want...
Right now what I want is to eat every bit of those blueberries I picked today! Ah, but moderation is key... I need them to last!
YUM!
