During our drive time adventure to Lake Michigan we tried to stop at a couple Cider Mills with Activities, each was closed on Sunday.
So on our way back from Grand Haven, Veg asked what we were going to do next. I had no plans, so I told him we would just head back and if something caught our eye, we would stop.
Suddenly we came up on a sign that said "Next Exit Frederick Meijer Gardens"..... OOH WOW!!!
I had seen that place on line, but thought it was too far away. Didn't realize it was on our way back!
Knowing this place could take 4+ hours to see everything, and we only had an hour before they closed, we walked in speed mode to the Children's area:
(disclaimer, I did not attempt to go through the mouse hole door, but Veg fit nicely and thought it was the coolest thing)
The place was Beautiful, as was the art work;
And the building... Oh My, The Building (HUGE):
Even though we only spent an hour, I'm glad we stopped. He ran through the Tree Houses, the Maze, the Labyrinth, the Senses Garden, and the Water activity. We saw a couple things inside too. He actually didn't want to leave, but time was not on our side.
Truth be told, I was ready to drive back at that point, so I didn't hesitate to rush the Child.
NeeNee met us at the hotel for Dinner and a Movie, while I packed up for the next leg of our trip...
And this concludes the posts for our Random Adventure Day!
