The CrossFit competition that I was going to try this weekend was canceled. While I had prepared myself to give it a try, there was a little bit of relief in my mind when it didn't happen.
Then I got an email showing two more competitions coming up and our coach asking for participation. The clincher is that both of these competitions include other people and other boxes. One of them even includes a beer. Yup... CrossFit and a beer... alrighty then!
ANYWHO.... I was putting the words through my head of whether or not I would register for these when I started to laugh at the words in my head. You see many of the words in my head come from the people in my life. If comedians get their material from the people in their lives, I GET my writing material from the people in my head... Scary, yes!!
So here it goes... If I were to talk about joining a competition with any of these people it would go something like this...
My Mom: Oh Honey, I don't need any more grey hairs but if it will make you happy than I support you. Be-careful!
My Dad: What would you do that for?
My Brother: You got a pull-up yet?
My Bestest Friend: Go For It
My CrossFit coaches: This is what you are working so hard for, and the only way you are going to know what you are capable of. Get out of your comfort zone and sign up.
My CrossFit female friends: You got this Girl... Go after it!
My CrossFit male friends: You have what it takes, do it!
My Plant Strong friends: Represent!!!
My Health Coach friends: Write your thoughts down and let the answer come to you.
My Son: That would be cool but I don't really care, your disturbing my reading.
My Husband: WHY? How much does it cost, Don't you do enough already? What, Are you trying to hurt yourself or something?
My Dog: Arf Arf, slobber slobber
Soooo, back to the question. Should I do a real multi-box competition??? This is what my thought is?
WHY THE HECK NOT??? Sure I'm not qualified, sure I won't be able to win any prizes, sure, I have no idea what I'm getting myself in to or what I'm doing. But if I don't try than I'll never know, right?
