MOTHER'S DAY CARD CHALLENGE

I found a great card last week and issued it as our "card challenge" for this weekend....  My friend has accepted this challenge, although we both pretty much skimped on until today. 

I finally got my crafting bug back, and made this very fun card.  It looks nothing like the original, took MUCH longer then I thought, but I really like the way it turned out.  Every thing on this card is hand cut.  There weren't any punches used.  So you will see some very odd shaped things but that is on purpose!  *smile*

My Friend found this profile link with instructions and I had to try it...Not sure I will frame it like they did and like my Friend will. 

Mostly because, I don't have lots of framed art around the house, and sticking this somewhere amongst the rest of my plain boring walls may look a little funny.  So I had a different idea of making a Scrapbook page with this being in the upper left corner of a white page, and then text filling up the rest....  Words that remind us of our first 5 years with our little man....  No pictures, just the profile and words... I have to admit, hubby helped with the tracing part of this project or it wouldn't have come out so good. And I used scissors since the xacto knife is not my friend. 

Here is our completed product profile... He looks so grown up!  *smile* and geesh, the doctors were right when they said he had a Big Head! 

Just another note... If your not trying to frame this and don't "really" care what it looks like, you could have the kids make their own... how cute of a mother's day gift would that be!  *smile*

GARDEN NOTE CARDS

I thought it may be fun to make a set of cards for my MIL's Birthday and since she is totally in to Gardening and Floral stuff, I used these stamps.  The best part is that Hubby was involved in getting these done.  Not only did he stamp them but he helped color (the dark colors are his)  *smile*  We also decorated the envelopes to match and put a ribbon around them for completion... 

They are only ink and pencils, so nothing fancy, but Hubby thinks she will keep them for herself and not send any  :-)  We left them all blank inside so she can do what she will with them.
