Today's plan was to make it 6 miles. Even if I had to walk 4 of them....The air was right, not too cold, not too windy, and I was feeling pretty good...
Here was the plan... Walk 1 mile for warm up, jog 4.4 miles, then walk 1 mile back to the house for cool down.. Giving me just over 6 miles total...
Unfortunately, I'm not very good at math (My brother got that gene and it passed right over me)... So I went the same direction, down the same trail... but it ended up a tad longer then I thought... this is what actually happened...
1 mile walk
5 mile jog
1.2 mile walk back home...
For a total of 7.2 miles.... Yes my friends... I went over 7 miles today... only 5 of them jogging but still.... I'm more then 1/2 way there if you add in the walking....
As you've seen by now, I've thrown all those fancy training grids out the window, and I'm just happy to do what I can. Then at least once a weekend I plan to increase from the 7 miles.... Until some day I will be at the 13... Some day in March actually, when at that point, I won't have a choice.... But I still have two full months to get there. So I trot along.... Clippety Clop Clippety Clop.... Slow and steady...
