Along time ago, I posted a link that started my trek to home Deodorant Making.. There were several expensive ingredients, several supplies, a microwave, a jar and a fridge involved. But I was so grateful to find a natural vegan option that worked.
Included in that process was baking soda, so one day when on a business trip, I realized I forgot my deo-balm, and found baking soda in the hotel store.
Why not? To my surprise, It worked so well, even when on a nervous business trip and jogging in the morning.
I switched full time to non-aluminum baking soda as my deo when I ran out of the last batch of balm... Baking Soda was cheap and fast... Remember, I'm trying to simplify!
It is also easily transportable for travel.
For over a year, I've been using the baking soda and just recently began to get a rash. So at night I'd put coconut oil on the rash and during the day, I put the baking soda on by itself... While on our trip, the two got mixed in my bag, and a new concoction was born..
This weekend I made the following:
1 Part non-aluminum Baking soda (for the stink)
1 Part organic Corn Starch (to help dry)
And a big glob of Coconut oil....(for moisture)
Once well combined, it turned in to this white glob and I stored it in a glass jar in my bathroom drawer. Took all but 5 minutes, was cheap, no microwave, no fridge, and smelled great!
I've put my new deo to the test... Washing a car in the heat, scrubbing the tub, jogging in 93 degrees, and decluttering the house.. Still no STINK and no Rash!!!
Should warn, that I still sweat (sorry for the TMI) but the stink is not there, and I haven't found any natural store bought solutions that work for me... so this is Awesome!
Make this reason #5239 that I do LOVE coconut oil!
Its only been a couple days, but so far I'm a happy camper!
