As a Natural'ish Mom, I realize that my son is going to grow up some day with a Comedy act of me and all the things I say will make him feel better. From swabbing his nose with ACV, putting garlic oil behind (and IN) his ears, to putting home made eucalyptus rub or oregano oil on his feet.
Putting Garlic oil on a boil, and tea tree wash clothes on his head to fight a migraine.
He will share stories of me making him smell like a salad in the spirit of making him feel better. He may even mention the head in the freezer trick for Croup or coconut oil lathered on his itchy skin.
I will likely never live down the Aloe Juice on his eyes for redness or having him suck a tea bag when a tooth fell out and was bleeding. Gargling salt water, swallowing aloe juice and/or sticking ginger drops under his tongue to settle an upset stomach.
He will forever remember the "feel better" Soap, comfrey ointments, and oregano oil in his arm pits.
Some day he will look back at my Non-Medicine cabinet and laugh himself silly.
But for now, he says this:
"Mom, Thank you for taking such good care of me, and making me not have to go to the doctor, I don't know where I would be if it weren't for you"
I Love those words!!! Even if I'll be the root of all his jokes when he grows up, for now I'm the Mom that makes him feel better, and I'll Take it!!!
