My Mom showed up with a cold (and or allergy, we haven't decided yet) and horrible arthritis pains in her joints, specifically her ankle was bothering her to the point of limping and not able to apply pressure.
She looked at me quite miserably and sniffly and said "You have a challenge for this visit, you need to fix me"
<REALLY?????> Insert Me, Jumping for joy!
You see, when NeeNee comes to visit, we give her lots of sleep, lots of good foods, tender loving care, fresh air, a few fun events and lots of all natural body stuffs.
BUT I also would fit in my digs about her need to quit smoking at home since she doesn't smoke while here, and how to eat healthier at home, how not to put plastic in the microwave, about her husband's stomach and heart dilemma... blah blah blah.. Yes, I'm totally annoying!
THIS year, I decided I would practice what I'm learning in school. I decided not to nag, not push, not be annoying, and just offer all our goodness. Let her enjoy the spa visit, without my two cents. This would require a muzzle but I was determined. (until she tried to put some of my goodness in the microwave, I couldn't contain myself)
Anyway, the moral of this story, is that I was not going to push my agenda, and yet she came to me on day one and said "Your challenge is to fix me"... My head started spinning as if I'd hit the jackpot. This was my IN!! An open door to make her feel better!
To be continued....
