A couple of weeks ago, the teen and I went on an adventure to the most magical spot near our house that I never knew existed.
We went for a super fun hike to a beautiful waterfall, walked along the river, across an insanely long rope bridge, saw some critters, enjoyed the sites, and played on the obstacle courses amongst the trees.
But what made it magical was the wishes left behind, the dollars donated to help their community, and the peaceful spots to play with rocks, skip rocks, and just BE.
Every single colored tab hanging from the ceiling of this hut was a wish left behind. Some of them were hilarious. Some would make you cry. Others were the most thought provoking simple words better than any tweet or social media post. You see, there is only so much room to write on a tab and just a few words can say so much. It was magical as if you could almost see the faces of the people who wrote them. I never added anything to the hut and almost felt guilty reading other people's wishes but felt like I could have stood there all day. Emotions flooded me with a mixture of gratitude, sadness, and laughter.
It makes me wonder, if you had a wish to hang, what would it say?
