Alright... So I really don't like indoor exercise machines.. I've said that already...My treadmill is more of a coat rack.. I have never used the stationary bike that hubby brought from a garage sale (Although he has used it) And all the others have been donated..
I have work out tapes, Taebo (which I used to like), Hubby has free weights, and we have different sizes of Exercise Balls.....
When it comes to exercise, I'd rather be outside... Walking, Running, Biking, Hiking..... But sadly, when I get home late like tonight, its too dark to do anything outside, the treadmill is too loud, and I'm too warn out for Taebo. On nights like tonight, I would normally do nothing... Forget the exercise ALL TOGETHER....
When there are many nights like this one, you can see how a pattern of doing nothing could set in.....And it has... Until the Exercise Challenge.....
NO LONGER.... I'm really liking this machine that Hubby brought home.
On Nights like tonight, I can sit on this thing, crank up the resistance, its quiet... doesn't wake the house, and I can pedal and read a book or magazine, or check blackberry work emails... Even post to this blog... I can do lots of things because my hands are free.
Tonight I got my 30 minutes for the challenge, And it was actually a little difficult... But while reading a book (more to follow on the book) I didn't even notice the sweat soaked shirt. Really, I was dripping, just from 30 minutes.
While I could never think of this as my total exercise solution, it will be nice to have on nights like tonight...
I even did a few free weights afterward, along with some push ups and sit ups using the Exercise ball... Add this to my new sitting while working, Exercise routine (more to follow on this one also).... And I'm feeling leaner already....
I may have to spend a lot of time sitting at a desk, but I'm going to keep moving from now on when I can.
Its not too late to take the challenge if you haven't already....
